What is the difference in the format types?
I am having trouble copying the files from the memory card to my computer so I can edit in MovieMagic software and burn a disk. What is the best format to use and easiest way to get the files off the memory card and into a custom DVD?

MP4 is the format that is more widely accepted, but it is better for uploading it to devices like smartphones and the web.  The better quality you will find overall will come from recording in AVCHD.
