Canon VIXIA HF R800 HD - Decoration function is greyed out

Hi, I'd like to add date/time stamp to my video while recording, however when I turn on my camcorder and go to the recording mode and touch the "main functions" onscreen button, the "decoration" button is greyed out. do you know how to turn it back on or I accidentally set other settings to prevent "decorations"?

There are a couple of settings to check with this. If the camera is set to dual recording or if the video quality is set to 35 Mbps it would gray out the decoration option. To check those settings go into the Menu and go to the Recording Setup section. Under Video Quality make sure it is not set to the 35 Mbps option (the Mbps recording speed is listed in each video quality option). Under the Dual/Relay Recording option make sure it is set to Standard Recording. Once you've set those the decoration option should be available on the camera.
