Cannon Vixia HF R400, video is recording in parts not as one video

I have a VIXIA HF R400. I was recording my daughters soccer game and when I loaded the footage onto my laptop I realized it is not recording one continuous video. So The first game which was 90 minutes long it was broken into 6 "clips" all of different lengths.  I only turn the camera off at halftime and I am always moving it left to right and up and down. I've looked in the user manual and it doesn't mention anything about it.

This camera has a maximum file size limit of 4GB, so while it can record a continuous clip for long periods of time it needs to separate this one clip into multiple files when the file size exceeds 4GB. When the clips are moved into you editing or viewing software they can be interpreted as the entire clip as long as all the files associated with each clip are kept together.
