Hello, I shot footage on my Canon Vixia at 30p (according to the menu), but my Avid editing system is reading it as 29.97. I can set the editing frame rate at either 30 or 29.97 -- which is more accurate? Is the Canon menu telling me it's 30p when it's actuallly 29.97?

Hello debra66,
When the frame rate is set for 30 frames, it's actually recording 29.97 frames. This is true of the Vixia and most other camcorders that shoot 30 frames and is industry standard.
