laptop wont connect to printer after change to fibre

Changed to fibre broaadband and now my laptop wont connect to the printer - a MP560 wireless - unless I switch the printer off first!!  My wife's laptop wont connect at all either wirelessly or when using a USB cable - am confused!!!
