was a solution found for the error message 2.249.1 ?????

I just hooked up Canon Lide 210 to my MacBook Pro with El Capitan and I get the error message 2,249.1I see others had the same problem,  but I haven't seen a solution yet. Has one been found? Thanks, Kathy
