My Mx340 Printer is saying Wait awhile

I am trying to scan and my printer willl not do this.  Its saying "Please wait awhile"  I would not like this to keep doing this.  I only scan maybe once every 6 weeks.. but its really annoying.ThanksBobbi Filkins
