Thanks everybody. I downloaded the new software and, surprise, still, it does not recognize the installed Canon MF 4700n.Any ideas?

Yes, unfortunately, neither Piers_A nor aholic solutions worked for me.Since I really need the scaning working, I am not upgrading another laptop, which I have dedicated as "server" of my LAN.

I did what too but still can not scan remotely. Help from Canon would be highly appreciated.
