I also used VueScan but it didn't solve the issue. It might work every once in a while but it is simply a fluke.Return it and order a different scanner. I got the HP Scanjet 300 and it is perfect.
I ended up returning mine to the retailer, citing incompability problems and replaced it with a HP Scanjet 300 for only £11 more which is due to arrive soon. Let's just hope this is the end of my nightmare with all this.
