prints but can't scan

I just tried to scan on my "wireless" MX922 multifunction but it says I need to connect by USB. Printing is wireless, why not scanning?

I will try this when I get home and find my cd . Will this help me with scanning directly from printer because I can scan using the software from my pc

Downloaded every piece of software I could find and it a least works from the PC. Thanks (I have Windows 7 Pro)
