weird line on sensor?

hey guys, Was hoping someone could tell me what the problem is with my 40dthe line going down the middle ( you may have to zoom in abit) Thanks Blake

thanks for the fast replies guys.i have just bought this camera second hand and was hoping it was a simple fix.not the case it seems.any ideas on what it would cost to get something like this fixed in australia?
