Registering a gift lens possible?

Got a new 50mm 1.8 for my birthday. I don't have the receipt - but I was told it was purchased directly from Canon. Is it possible to get this lens registered?

You read in to my statements things I did not say. Saying that I’d like it if something was different is not the same thing as demanding that it is.

This is also not what I’ve said. I just asked if it’s possible and that Cannon can make it easier, but if they don’t, they don’t.
