I'm experiencing the same issue with my mf244dw printer, where it occasionally works after a system reset, but scanning a second time results in split pages.
My Canon MF244DW has a plastic cover over the glass area you mentioned. I had to take that off to clean the glass underneath. Once I did that, the streaks were gone. Thank you!!!
