The USB connection just simply doesn't work. Don't know if anyone else has had this issue. I've tried many cables and they all fail

I can show blinks (highlight alerts) after I've taken images. Can I set up the camera to do it prior to releasing the shutter?  If so, how do I do it. Just bought the camera and I can't find it. I would be shocked as sh__ if the camera couldn't show ...
