The firmware update does not solve the problem of the battery flashing. You can still take video but it is quite annoying. And you must restart the camera to get the battery gauge back to normal. The firmware update does not fix this problem!!

I only use Class 10 cards. Does not matter which one I put in the camera. They are all the same. I have 4 Class 10 cards.

I have always used a Class 10 memory card. That does not solve the problem.

Have only heard about the problem with the SX280. Great camera, stupid annoying problem. Wish the Canon people would find a fix for it.

Does not work. I updated the firmware when it came out. You can take video but battery still shows dead. Must turn camera off and on again to get battery icon back to normal.
