I have a video creating program called Pinnacle Studio, version 12. I can connect my camcorder to it and take video from that and put it on my computer, and edit it in any way i want. But it doesn't save in a format that YouTube will let me upload it...

i was using Canon XF300 and I got videos in mxf format. i recently installed sony vegas onto my computer and was wondering if there are any certain video types i should convert my footage to before editing on sony vegas i.e. mpeg, avi, etc or does it...
