Did you end up doing the firmware update? I too am leery about upsetting the apple cart now that I have my printer working by changing the DNS settings.

Has Canon come up with any kind of fix for this major issue? Apparently affecting numerous models of Canon wireless printers.

I wouldn't run out and buy a new printer just yet. Numerous people had this same issue happen to them on May 31st. Something fishy here.
