Sad to report 1.3.0 is out (installed USA version just now) and the issue is still there (no mention of WiFi in the release notes). Everyone else, you got this issue, go report it to the real support line: strength in numbers. Just tell them the WiF...
So I did send the issue to Canon Support. At first they said "send us your camera for repair". I replied showing them this thread and said I think its bigger than my camera and is your firmware. They responded asking me to test it without my wifi on...
I'm having the same issue on firmware 1.2.0. Living in a city it's hard for me to chase down the 10s of visible networks around me to see who's on an Eero or what not. As fast Wi-Fi was a feature upgrade for the R5 its pretty dissapointing.
