PIXMA MX475 Scanning Issue

All my auto scans, photos and documents, turn out as PDF's...and some duplicates...I reset all options to default..but still the same HELP!
MX475 scans everything in PDF

PIXMA MX 475...I reset all settings to "default" but everything I scan, photos, documents etc all come out as PDF's Not sure what to do?????

I purchased this from Staples in Mass. USA just a few years ago...I thought maybe one of the users or Canon might be able to help me
