Firmware update on PIXMA PRO-100 won't run on Mac OS Sonoma

When I try and update the firmware on my Pixma Pro 100 on a MacBook Pro running Sonoma, double click on the Firefox icon in Printer update and all I get is code in Firefox. I tried opening it in Safari and got the same result.  what am i doing wrong?
