Aperture setting in manual film mode

I just purchased the Nifty Fifty for my T6 and while in auto movie mode it uses the 1.8 aperture setting but switches to 5.6 in manual mode. Is it possible to switch to the 1.8 setting in manual film mode? If so, how?
