Would be grateful if would post the link for downloading the 10.11 driver. MacLove seems to have received it but I cannot find it.

Ihave an iMac using Mac OS10.13.2 High Sierra. I had the same problem with MP Navigator quitting. However you can still scan using Mac software. Go apple/System Preferences/Printers & Scanners and click on Canon MX870 series. This brings up a scanner...
