Can I update the Adapter EF-EOS R 0.71x with a R5 C?

Can I update the Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R 0.71x with an R5 C camera or do I need a C70 for the update? I don't have a Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R 0.71x yet but I want to purchase one for my R5 C. I wanted to know if I can update the firmware before I purchase the adapter. The image attached was taken from a youtube video demonstrating updating the adapter's firmware with a C70.

For 8K video I'm not bothered about a resolution crop as there's way more than needed for most scenarios - this is for a specialised shot with a probe lens which is usually t14 so having the speedbooster on the r5c helps give you an extra stop of light to work with - with the dual based iso of 3200 you get 2 extra stops than if you were to shoot at 800iso (most common base iso for most cinema cameras) - basically making a t14 lens nearer  to a T5.6 in terms of light level which means less lights needed on set - for specialised purposes it sounds like a good idea

OK, you've clearly thought this through, and you certainly have a more specialised use case than normal.  Just bear in mind that an 8k resolution is NOT 8k pixels; it's 8k photosites.  With oversampling, you can get something like a true 4k pixel resolution out of the camera.  But with the APS-C crop, I don't know how that works -- I don't know what the downscaling would look like, as the camera has several different modes.

I actually tested the R5C for resolution in a bunch of different scenarios: https://moonblink.info/MudLake/gear#R5C  @ 16:22

Thank you for the info!
