Is canon xc15 compatible with speed lite 600EXII-RT?

i just bought these camcorder and the spedlite and noticed that when trying out trying out still photos th speedlite does not work.

is this normal?

No.  The XC15 lacks a flash shoe, or any other means to synchronize with a flash that I am aware of.

The manual says it is only for the supplied microphone adapter.
