Working the Scene

To often we approach a subject, take a shot, and walk away. We need to learn to take a couple seconds or minutes more to work the scene. Take the time to line up the shot for a better composition or find a better angle.

These images are of the same tree taken seconds from each other. 2 different lenses were also used. The results are vastly different.

I take pictures of the same thing over and over with different cameras, digital and analog, different lenses, different films, different times of the day, and it's amazing how much character a thing can have when we take the time to examine it.

Deep down, most photographers are trying to freeze time for people who don't realize how fast life is moving. Please ask for an invite to my Knowledge Base articles for tips on teaching photography, composition, and non-compensated product reviews.

I agree with LeeP. With digital photography, one doesn't have to worry about using miles of film.
