Captured this beautiful American Robin during a calm evening in my backyard. The bird stood still just long enough for me to frame it right. The Canon RF 200-800mm F6.3-9 IS USM performed flawlessly, especially at the long end, helping me bring out the textures and colors without disturbing the subject.

Gear & Settings

  • Camera: Canon EOS R6

  • Lens: Canon RF 200-800mm F6.3-9 IS USM

  • Focal Length: 800mm (handheld)

  • Exposure: 1/640 sec | f/9 | ISO 640

  • Mode: Aperture Priority (Av)

  • Metering: Spot Metering

  • Flash: Not fired

  • Light: Natural ambient light

  • Post: Minor contrast and sharpening in Lightroom

Loving how the RF 200-800mm handles reach and stability even in natural light. This lens is quickly becoming my go-to for birding and nature work.

Happy to hear feedback or suggestions. Cheers to all Canon shooters! 📷

Thanks for the photo and information. I sit in the backyard and watch them tilt their head to watch for bugs and worms.
