Steller's Jay j R5 Mark II & RF200-800mm f6.3-9 IS USM
Steller's Jays are native to western North America and the mountains of Central America, closely related to the Blue Jays. Steller's Jays are common and widespread in the forests of western North America, found in backyards and campground parklands, easily adapting to areas with food sources like birdfeeders. Although they are common and widespread, there's a reason for concern, Steller's Jays population has seen a population decline of about 0.5% per year between 1966 and 2019. Steller's Jays are distinguished from Blue Jays by their predominantly black head and dark blue body, while Blue Jays have lighter body with distinct white spots on their wings and prominent blue crest. Steller's Jays inhabit western North America, displaying various shades of blues and black, where Blue Jays are found in eastern North America displaying bright blue, white, and black colors.
