Peregrine Falcon R5 Mark II & RF200-800mm IS USMPeregrine Falcon R5 Mark II & RF200-800mm IS USM

Went to Hawk Hill, Sausalito, CA yesterday, 9-13-2025 to shoot raptors as they migrate south for the winter.  I did some reconnaissance to find a spot where raptors would be hunting and got my gear and hiked back.  Once the fog lifted and the sun came out one could see raptors riding the thermals hunting for food.  I spotted some hawks and peregrine falcons and was able to get some decent shots.  For the most part they were flying very high and too far to shoot.  Their annual migration south is from August to December, so I'll be going back a few more times since the weather will get better as we go into fall.  Here in the SF Bay, We get sunnier days with hardly any fog in the fall and winter.

Cheers,
Joe
