Behold my Canon 35mm paperweights shot with my R8 and the intensional use of an APSC Rokinon 8mm fisheye lens.
The FP works perfectly until you mount a lens and then it locks up after every shot. Remove the lens. Jiggle the actuation arm in the mirror box and the camera resets. The lens is perfectly operational. The body must be gummed up so that it cannot actuate. Not going to waste the money on a CLA. I got it for next to nothing and into the collection it goes.
The Canonflex RM sort of works some of the time sorta kinda almost. The lens is dead i.e. the aperture blades are stuck at minimum aperture regardless of the position of the aperture ring. This Canonflex was a cheap consolation prize when I was bidding on an original Canonflex (with the black removable prism) that for a week and a half had my opening bid of $26 with $50 as my cushion. The bidding frenzy happened in the last 2 minutes like I thought it would and eBay glitched just long enough for two people to bump the bid to $82 and for the auction to end. I was in the process of upping my bid to $125. Oh well. I hope the other person will enjoy the camera and I will keep scouring. And into the collection goes the Canonflex RM.
