Thought I would share a few of the images I took at Hocking Hills State Park in Ohio two weeks ago. It was our first time there. My wife wanted to go there for her birthday, so we drove down and stayed for 5 days. The park is stunning in its beauty. Some of the open caves were so big that even with a 17mm lens, I had to stand back and take a handful of photos to make a pano.
But anyway, these are just some random images on a few of the many trails. All were taken with the EOS R6 Mark ll, and either the RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 or the RF 35mm f/1.8 lens.

My complements on the photos. Former Buckeye here. Many people don't realize the natural beauty that is manifest in the state. Glad the stay was a memorable one. When are you going back?

Thank you, John!
There is beauty in every state if you know where to look. But you are right, John... many people don't know simply because they judge the whole state (of ANY state) by their view when passing through on the Interstate. I lived in Colorado Springs for 10 years and although the state is beautiful, there are many "blah" parts as well. But at the same time friends from Michigan would come out to visit and say "Well, this part of the state is awesome... but east of here it's kind of boring". So I would suggest various side roads for their trip back. It often changed their whole perspective of that area.
When are we going back? That's up for debate. Me... I would rather go after the snow melts, and the many waterfalls in the park are flowing strong. My wife says that it would be too early for a lot of the foliage to be out (which we both love), added if I wanted waterfalls, just go up to Michigan's upper peninsula next summer (again, which we both love - and it's about 2 hours closer than Hocking Hills, with MANY places on Lake Michigan that we enjoy stopping at along the way), so she thinks autumn would be better for Hocking Hills. If you are married, you know perfectly well who makes the final decision in a happy marriage. 😂
