Sign post on the road to the Cemetery on the Isle of Jura, Scotland. This is a Commonwealth Graveyard with the usual upsetting graves from the First World War. Two young men from the same family, 28 and 30 years old killed in action caught my attention. It was raining, so I didn't use my EOS90D and relied on my old PowerShot SX620.

Ramsden,
It could very well be that these were two brothers. Both made Captain.
The one on the bottom, R.W.F. Campbell, It looks like he may have died on the 4th of August, 1916.
Aug 4 WWI: The Turks attack the British line at Romani in the northern Sinai.
Did he die there?
I wonder.

Hi Steve
I think they were brothers. The iron railings behind the grave stone was a private Campbell family tomb going back 200 yrs or more. It was all over grown and hard to read. I find these things quite moving. Unfortunately the rain was quite bad and got onto my camera lens and messed up a few pictures.

Thanks for your research, that really adds some great detail to the story. I'll dig into this when I get back home.
