Very cool and beautiful shot LZ. Perfect DOF and colors.
That EF-S60mm f2.8 macro is a nice lens, I have it 's little brother the EF-S 35mm which I haven't been able to give up since moving to mirror-less.

Thank you!
I like the 60 a lot. I have a bricked EF 50mm 2.5 that I think was a bit sharper but slow, noisy and only went to .5:1. The 35 intrigued me because of the built in ring light and have great reviews. Used copies of that lens are hard to find and command premium prices.
The assassin nymph was tiny and even at near 1:1 I crop in quite a bit.

Hey zaksim.
Nice shot, zaksim 👍 You're now peaking my interest back to macro photography. I've been having raptor fever; Golden Eagles, Peregrine Falcons, Red-tailed Hawks and the such. BTW, was that shot handheld?

That is one cool-looking bug!

Thank you Joe!
Yes, the shot was handheld. It is one of those shots that just happened. I was kind of playing around with the macro lens and didn’t see the bug until I looked through the viewfinder. I got as close to 1:1 as I could and took a couple of shots without flash and a few with the pop-up flash (better). The shot above is cropped (about 40-50% of the central area of the image). He was a really small critter!

The ring light is great for night hikes with a Small Rig RM01 Mini LED for fill lighting. One of the main reasons I've held onto it.
