Cool shot, and a willing model ;o)

How are you liking the Sigma 16-300mm? I had the EF 18-300mm Macro and really liked it. I'm really considering picking up this lens so your thoughts would be appreciated.

I just bought this lens last month, so I’m not yet sure if I’ve fully maximized its use. However, all I can say is that it’s an all-in-one lens, especially for outdoor shooting during the daytime. The lens struggles a bit in low-light conditions, so I decided to buy an external flash to make shooting in dark environments easier.

But to answer your question, for me, this Sigma 16–300mm is definitely worth it because I no longer need to keep changing lenses.

I just got my R50V and am having fun with it.  I think I'll stick with the RF 24-240 after looking at the side by side comparison on the the digital picture site, though I know I'll be hauling a much heavier piece of glass.   I'll carry the RF 16mm f/2.8 to use if I need wide shots.  I'm curious to hear how you've got yours set up.  I've currently got mine set up with the control ring to set aperture (old school), auto ISO ( with 1600 as the highest - or I may set it manually to 800, like old school, as well) and then use the main wheel for shutter.  I'm using back-button focus for using the control ring for the aperture.  Back button is something I really have never gotten into but seems to make sense for this tiny camera and using the control ring.  I'm thinking of switching the AF/MF button to switch between one-shot and servo since it's really not much use to me as I have to switch the lens back from control to MF on the lens anyways, and have MF enabled.  Since everything is screen based anyways

I could just hit the Q/Set button and select it, but I'm kinda used to customizing the buttons for One-Shot/Servo, centering the focus, and spot and whole-area AF (the only modes/zones I use on my other camera).

Seems there is no way to deselect AF zones though, so that might be and option for the WB button.  I shoot RAW and don't care what the WB is set to.

Anyway, curious what's working for you and any tips that you can pass along.  Thanks for sharing the pics, and thanks in advance for any advice and lessons learned.  It's a fun thing to take this video-centric little camera and shoot photos with it.  I like that the high-speed buffer (thanks to the video buffer) is faster than the regular R50 and using the screen seems like a high-tech version of the  old box or large format cameras that all had no viewfinders  - analogy "mirrorless" cameras if you will.

Good photo. The subject looks very "hoppy."

I had the old EF version, the Sigma 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3 DC Macro OS HSM C that I mounted mostly on my 90D. I loved the lens, traveled everywhere with me, ended up giving it to my daughter  It grabbed some great images with that lens. When they roll out the R7 MkII I will most likely grab the RF 16–300mm.
