I've just started using my CanoScan 9950f again after a long hiatus.
Could not get the scanner and computer to connect. Think I tried everything until I switched from the 6 Feet (1.8 Meters) USB cable to a 2 Feet (0.6 Meters) cable. Now it worked.
The shorter one is the original cable that came with the scanner.
Question: Is the shorter one a Canon proprietary version or is the long one simply too long?
Using the 2 Feet cable is really stretching it (literally) so it would be nice to know if if other length and/or manufacturers can be used.
