Hello, I am attempting to install a brand new Canon RS40 Scanner on my Windows 11 laptop and I am receiving an error when installing the drivers and the scanner is showing as "No driver installed" when plugged into the laptop. The error is this:CANON INSTALL ERROR.jpg
Please assist. I do not want to return this scanner.
Thank you.

For the record on this, I followed up the above post with a call to Canon and they essentially said on the phone that I was out of luck and they could not help me. I, however, persisted and found a way to allow (temporarily) the installation of the driver I pulled from the earlier instruction by disabling driver signing verification in Windows 11. Once I did that, I was able to install the driver and Windows now recognizes the scanner and it works. This whole thing was a nightmare and it took 4-5 hours of troubleshooting/researching. Canon was ~50% helpful over the phone, but their overly complex drivers and lack of installation support is subpar. One thing I will mention is that it is easy to get through to someone on Canon's phone number and they do actually have US based support, but they gave up helping on more complex Windows support issues such as mine and essentially told me to return the scanner.

Greetings,
I appreciate you reposting. I was traveling and thinking about your issue. Your persistence is excellent. This type of issue would typically only be known to the developer. I'm sorry to hear that support wasn't able to provide you with this solution. The repair application I mentioned is included with capture on touch, However, it doesn't have to do with driver signing. Hats off to you for discovering this 👏. I will absolutely put this in my back pocket for the future.
Congratulations again on the discovery. !!
