Recently upgraded to macOS 10.15.4 and suddenly the Capture on Touch SW for the P215 which had qworked flawlessly under previous versions of macOS stopped working with a popup from the OS saying it was no longer compatible with the OS. Subsequent investigation revelas this is a 32bit versus 64bit issue with Catalina (macOS 10.15.4) only using 64bit applications and programs. Since I use this scanner with both my iMac and MacBook Air, I really need some kind of option to continue scanning. Any insight or assistance would be most welcome

Greetings,
There is no Catalina (64bit) driver avaialble for the P215. The High Sierra driver works in Mac OS through Mojave.
Apple decided to stop supporting 32bit software.
Two options:
Formula-P215II (Second gen)
or
Formula P-208II
Support is not discontinued intentionally, sometimes the hardware is not capable of the new OS architechture. Canon will often offer a purchase discount towards a new product when a existing product goes out of software support.
