Wow, so looks like a new FW update in December will allow the R5C to do 8k 60p RAW with no external power and JUST the LP-E6P battery: https://www.canon.co.uk/press-centre/press-releases/2024/11/firmware-updates-add-extensive-new-funct...

Greetings,

Very nice of you to share this.

I purchased a few E6P's but only because of the increase when recording 4K 24p.  You don't need firmware to start taking advantage of this now.  😀

These are from the November 6th announcement:

  • Support for RF17-120 CINE-SERVO lens and compatibility with the RF70-200 F2.8 L IS USM Z zoom lens and the RF24mm F1.4 L VCM and RF50mm F1.4 L VCM hybrid lenses. (Self explanatory)

  • Option for camera output to mirror the camera’s LCD display. (Waiting to see what's going to be added)

  • Displays digital tele-converter icon when activated. (I believe this is going to be one-touch digital-tele activation.  LCD already displays 1x,2x,3x)

  • New subject tracking trigger. (I guess this is going to add a button customization for activating this feature.)

  • AF frame can be moved in the display by dragging or sliding to the desired location.  (This exists with button customization, so I want to see how it changes)

Yes but bcuz it wasn't really publicized as a feature (and seemingly only mentioned last month on the Canon UK site) there are a lot of people, particularly those who don't use 8K 60p often (like myself) who had no idea it was available until someone in an FB group flagged it earlier today.

Greetings ,

I'm like you then, a 4K man.  🙂. It's going to be a great enhancement however.
