Having issue with Final Cut Pro being able to properly import the MXF file. When I import the files, they show as 4 audio files instead of a video file. Is this a FCP issue? I also had trouble getting quicktime to play any of the files. VLC had no issues.

Greetings,
How are you importing the files? I believe a card reader is recommended.

Noticing this too. In order for fcp to read the xfavc files you have to shoot in 4k. Shooting in 1080 fcp will not be able to read it so looks like a bug. However if you have Davinci Resolve it reads all thr files perfectly fine.

FCP has no problems reading xfavc files from my c500 mark ii. So, it's got to be a c400 file format issue. Does canon or fcp need to address?

Can you verify that you can import files shot under resolution 1080p xfavc. At 4k xfavc these files work perfectly fine for import in fcp, it’s just the specific resolution of 1080p I’m noticing.
