Are you connecting to the computer via a USB cable or Firewire (DV) cable?

The problem appears to be that the Cmaera does not like Windows 7. Is there a fix?

If you are connecting via the USB cable then you are not the first user I have seen with this problem. There is another thread where a user owns a MVX4i and can't get the camcorder to connect via a USB connection. There is no solution in that thread yet either but here it is if you would like to follow it: http://community.usa.canon.com/t5/Camcorder-Discussion/MVX4i-can-t-transfer-videos-in-WIn7/m-p/13169...
