I purchased a second hand c70 a few months ago and the previous owner sent the unit to Canon to have the sensor cleaned (there was an eyelash behind the IR cut filter) and now I have what appears to be dust on the sensor. I tried cleaning it with sensor swabs but some of the dust remains and a black spot is visible in my footage. I called Canon and they said that it is most likely behind the various filters in front of the sensor or on the sensor itself and would cost between $200-300 to service. Is this something other c70 owners have experienced? I find it incredible that the sensor area is not properly sealed and that a few months after it was cleaned it has to be done again. Btw I generally don’t shoot under harsh conditions and I’m very careful to hold the camera upside down when changing lenses. Thanks
