imagePROGRAF PRO-310 color management, oranges, browns and sometimes yellow are blown out

chartsbc54

I have a Canon PRO-310 ink jet printer.

As background, I convert my color photos to black and white and then with the paint brush tool, I cut through the black and white layer revealing the original color on the color layer and creating a color image on a black and white field.

All colors print accurately except the oranges, browns and sometimes yellow. They are blown out, overly contrasty with burned out detail. I’ve tried different ICC profiles provided by Canon, have used both Perceptual and Relative Colorimetric and Photoshop/Printer Manages Color and have cleaned the nozzles.

Thoughts?
