If I create a 25 inch by 35 inch grid in AutoCAD and plot to a roll of plain white paper I get 100% accuracy.
If I plot the same grid to backlit film, the feed length gets inconsistant.
I have made adjustments to the feed length following Canon's supplied instructions. I have loaded and unloaded the backlit film following Canon's supplied instructions.
Making feed adjustments using the plotter's built in functions yeilds 100% accuracy on backlit film, but this acccuracy does not seem to be applied when plotting from the AutoCAD or CATIA platforms.
If I have a general tolerance of +/- .030 inches for a produced part, I can usually "fake" accuracy on an E sized drawing or smaller, but generally, the longer the part, the more deviation to the feed length I experience; producing accurate drawings at 120 inches or greater is out of the question.
What gives?
CAD software used: AutoCAD 2010, CATIA V5.
