I just replaced all the ink cartridges for my expensive Pro9000 Mark ll printer, that I've had for about 15 years (kept covered except when using), with expensive genuine Canon inks. Was able to print two exquisite photos on expensive Canon papers, then the printer lights on the front started flashing, alternating green and orange, one flash each back and forth, over and over.
I tried everything including unplugging and re-plugging for 10 minutes to reset; nothing has worked. I would appreciate any help to resolve this problem. Thank you.

If you followed these steps and still no success then it is probably at end of life.

Followed steps, no success. That it's kaput would be crazy because I've used it no more than 50 times altogether. But thank you.

I had the same problem, couldn't figure out what was going on. Then I noticed the "Rear Support" tray was closed and the push button wasn't working. After prying the Rear Support open, lo and behold, flashing error disappeared and everything went back to normal. Never thought that the rear tray was so essential to the printer function 😤
