Manual feed has stopped working on PRO-300 Printer

I have made less than 20 prints using the Manual Feed on my PRO-300 printer. It has now stopped functioning. Although I can use the top feeder for thin paper (that still works), I cannot use 310 gms paper now because it must be fed through the Manual Feeder. There is no blockage that I can see and the machine is clean. The machine has not been moved from its position on my desktop. The manual feed was working, I switched it off, then, the next day, when I switched it back on, the manual feed would not accept paper.

It looks like I have the same problem.  For a few moments I can select the manual feed on the printer display but then it reverts to the top feed which means I cannot print on Canon Premium Fine Art Rough.  Did you manage to resolve the problem?

I have the same problem! Its a brand new printer. I've had it for 2 days! The first day I ran 5 prints on fine arts paper from the manual feed. Today it just won't register that there is paper - I keep getting a 1006 error. Help.
