Issue with ink light off

I have loved and not had any problems with my Pixma Pro 9000 Mark II for many years - now I am having issues with one of the ink cartridge lights - when I put in the cartridge the ink light looks okay but when I then close the top and try to print I get the error message that one of the ink lights is off - when I open it again that cartridge light is flashing - any suggestions - happening repeatedly

Hi LucySally,

Please open the cover to your printer to look at the ink tanks.

Please make sure that you are using genuine Canon ink tanks.  Also, please make sure that all of the tape / cellophane has been removed.

From left to right, the ink tanks should be installed as follows:

CLI-8 Green
CLI-8 Red
CLI-8 Photo Magenta
CLI-8 Black
CLI-8 Photo Cyan
CLI-8 Cyan
CLI-8 Magenta
CLI-8 Yellow

If you are not using Canon inks or not using CLI-8 ink tanks, this issue will occur.
