Horizontal marks printing on imagePROGRAF PRO-310

Hi - updated from a dead Canon pro 300 to a Pro-310 and having this issue:

Its less apparent on A4s but still there - this is using canon luster paper - I did all the maintenance and no improvement.

It almost sounds like something is stuck - but this is a brand new printer - pretty sure all the tape etc holding it in place for delivery were taken out. Think it may be a paper weight issue - but its selected correctly in the software and on the printer as far as I can tell. Help!
