Canon imagePROGRAF Pro-1100 color calibration does not run

When I try to run a color calibration on my new Canon Pro-1100, nothing happens. I have tried to run it from the printer's control panel (Maintenance | Color Calibration | Auto Adjust | Continue - yes | paper settings - Letter size - Pro Luster | Settings - Load Paper - OK ) which brings me to a screen that says "Processing... Please Wait Momentarily" for maybe 3 seconds and then displays "Completed the following: Color Calibration". But nothing has happened at all. A sheet of Canon Pro Luster paper in top feed just sits there.

I have also tried to run the calibration from the Canon Quick Utility Toolbox application (macOS 14.7). There I can see in the Calibration Monitor window that the app has created a calibration job that just sits there and never executes.

What am I missing?

is this a bug? has anyone been able to run the built in color calibration on a pro-1100?

How did you make out? My hubby said to tell you he just printed his first print (and is having color quality issues) so he ran the color calibration and it took several minutes and then went thru it's routine, taking a very long time before printing out the sheet of colors. Pls let us know. (this didn't solve our issue, sadly)

I was able to solve the problem.  I realized shortly after posting my msg that not only the the calibration wouldn't run, but I also could not send images to the printer.  (Although a nozzle test would run.). I suspect the last time I had successfully printed was before a firmware update.  I try to always leave the printer turned on to minimize ink waste / cleaning routines; it's possible or likely that the firmware update requires a restart of the printer.  After restarting the printer the calibration and image printing are again up and running.  Also to note that after a week or so the printer again stopped receiving images sent to it, jobs would just disappear from the print manager.  Again a restart of the printer resolved that issue.

@Justice, not sure about your husband's issues, seems unrelated to my issue.  I've found the quality and color of the prints to be generally great (some papers require a bit more tweaking than others..). Having a reasonably calibrated monitor and proper color workflow are the necessary starting points.
