imagePROGRAF PRO-4000 stuck on "adjusting printer to make ready for printing"

My Canon image prograf 4000 will not turn all the way on. It gets stuck on the screen "adjusting printer to make ready for printing. Please wait". Every time, I power up, the Canon logo appears on screen. Then the info screen. Then it just stops at "adjusting printer to make ready for printing. Please wait" Mean while the printer just sits there and does not make any sound or adjustments. Like the printer is bricked. Is there a reset button combo or does anyone have any ideas?

Probably too late for jdvideo but others might benefit.

My prograf 4000 had the same issue. I fixed it by disconnecting the multifunction roll unit and restarted the machine. Booted just fine. Reconnected the MFR unit and restarted it again. Booted properly.
