configure mail scan imagerunner ir1643

For the iR1643i II model we were unable to get email sending to scan to work.
SMTP port 465 or 587. Google DNS and internal ones
gmail application password configuration, always throws smtp and dns port error.
Previously with another printer from another brand we did not have any port or DNS problems.

Greetings,

Image Runner support is not provided directly from Canon USA.  Canon has a dealer network that provides IR support.  If you don't have a dealer, you may call this number, and you will be provided the names and numbers of dealers in your area.  1-800-652-2666

The problem you are experiencing sounds like a configuration issue.

Gmail SMTP server: smtp.gmal.com

Username: full gmail address

Password: Use a App Password (omit the dashes)

Port: 587

Encryption: TLS

You should not need special DNS settings.  If the printer is connected to a network with internet access, use the ISP's DNS.  (whatever the modem / router is using).  This does not need to be entered unless you rely on DNS from an internal source.

Your dealer will be able to help if you cannot figure things out.

I have it configured like this, smtp.gmail.com
company email

Use SMTP authentication (SMTP AUTH
Use TLS for SMTP TX

the application password without spaces.
The IP is fixed and the DNS too, it doesn't allow me to be dynamic.

I tried with personal gmail and it doesn't work either, when I want to perform the SMTP check it gives me an IP or DNS error.

IP or DNS error. What is providing DHCP and DNS on your network?

The printer absolutely allows. DHCP configuratio.  It will accept IP assignment from any DHCP server, whether that be a modem / rrouter, a firewall or server.

Since you are getting these errors, what is the IP address? Gateway and subnet mask?  You are using.
