Hi,
I am moving next week and just saw in my manual that preparing the printer to be moved will require three maintenance cartridges. Is that true?
We will be moving 10 miles away, so it's not a far move, but spending $300 on maintenance cartridges seems a little excessive.
Is there anyone that has experience and input on this matter?
Edit for more info: I went to the maintenance menu, selected prepare to move > move outdoors and it immediately went to removing the ink tanks. I am guess that this means that I will not need to replace the maintenance cartridge?

Hi teej,
The maintenance cartridges are necessary, as the ink will be drained out of the ink tubes.
If the ink is not emptied, ink may leak during the move which may result in damage to your printer.

FWIW regarding the outdoor move to anyone who might ask this question in the future:
I filled the cartridge that came with the printer, a second fresh one, and a little bit of a third.
